Matlacha turned a good performance from starting pitcher Howard Campbell into a 6-2 triumph over the Monroeville Yinzers at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. With the win, Matlacha has a record of 49-43. Monroeville falls to 30-62.

Matlacha took advantage of an error in the top of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Martín Quintana hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Manatees in front, 4-2.

"We didn't play well enough to win," said Monroeville skipper Jack Willis.
