The Belleville Bulls took Laredo pitcher Sam Hart's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Belleville Field. The final score had Belleville getting past the Hawks, 7-4. Hart went 5.2 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 7. The win was credited to 24-year old right-handed pitcher António Castillo in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Hou-kang Wu took the loss. Belleville is now 51-42, while Laredo is 52-41.
Belleville took a 6-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, when Chris Bursey hit a clutch 3-run home run to bring Bulls fans to their feet.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Bursey told the Belleville Times. "It's as simple as that."
