The Caldwell Chiefs stymied the Niagara Falls Expos, 5-2, at Waterfall Park. Melvin Farr had a good day at the plate. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Caldwell. Hisanobu Harada got the win, improving to 3-5. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Caldwell is in 7th place in the Menard's A with a record of 44-49.
Caldwell took a 5-0 lead on Farr's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Chris Beatty in the top of the sixth, propelled Caldwell to the win.
"We played hard and won," said Farr. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
