The Expos faced a stiff challenge from Matlacha pitcher Juan Sánchez, but persevered to claim a win at Waterfall Park. The final score was 2-1. Sánchez went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Eric Hewitt came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 2-3. The 9th-place Expos improved to 39-54.
