Grand Forks designated hitter Salvador Guillén had a good game, even if his team did not. The Caterpillars dropped a 4-3 decision to Laredo at Hawks Field. Guillén was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Cristovão Mineiro, now 4-5, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. With the victory, the Hawks upped their record to 55-39.
Had Luis Pérez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Pérez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Hawks.
