Torch Roll to 8-3 Win Over Generals
|
The Mancelona Torch stopped the Washington Generals, 8-3, at Torch Field. The Torch got a big game from Darrel Baker, who went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. John Rich, the winner, is now 7-3. He struck out 7 and walked 3 over 5.2 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 8 hits. Ruggiero Recchi wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.
Shortstop Evan Cannon made an impact for Mancelona, when he swatted a 3-run home run off Luis Colón in the bottom of the third. For the contest, Cannon was 1 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
