Mancelona Earns 3-2 Win
|
The Mancelona Torch took Washington pitcher Francisco Torres's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Torch Field. The final score had Mancelona getting past the Generals, 3-2. Torres went 8 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 9. Jong-beom So picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Ed Cook was tagged with the loss. Mancelona has a record of 44-50, placing them 8th in the Menard's A.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Mancelona second baseman Freddy Bravo, facing Ed Cook, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Torch the 3-2 win.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Bravo told the Mancelona Times.
