The performance of Dominic Slocombe proved critical in helping Niagara Falls beat Rocky Mountain, 5-3, in 11 innings. The Expos first baseman was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Ronald Kirkland claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4 innings. His record stands at 8-1. The loss makes Rocky Mountain 41-53.
Slocombe had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 0-2 fastball from Tim Day, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Expos a 5-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Slocombe.
"Our team found a way to get it done," said Slocombe.
