Generals Edge Vibes, 1-0
|
Washington pitcher Sandro Sansovino had a large part in his team subduing the Rocky Mountain Vibes, 1-0. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Sansovino, now 2-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Arturo Alvarado notched his 4th save in 6 chances.
The Generals got a big at-bat from shortstop Hirokichi Sato. For the game, Sato went 1-3 with a home run. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Washington a 1-0 lead.
"Some games build character," said Washington manager Kyu-cheol Kye. "Like this one."
Washington, with the win, climbs to 29-65.
