Blue Dragons Win at Caldwell, 2-1
|
The Levittown Blue Dragons went home winners at Pipers Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Larry White. White stifled the Caldwell Chiefs, enabling Levittown to grab the 2-1 win. The winner was White. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Howard Clark. Don Smith earned the save, his 12th.
Levittown used the hitting of Jesse Kelley to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blue Dragons on top, 2-0. For the game, Kelley had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Larry is a gamer," said Levittown manager Tony Sánchez.
Levittown is 38-57 and Caldwell, with the loss, 44-51.
