The Philadelphia Liberty defeated the Toronto Thunder, 5-2, at Thunder Field. Leading the charge for Philadelphia was right fielder Oliver Ortega. He went 3-5 with 2 home runs. Patrick Davis got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 7 innings. The win puts Philadelphia at 3-1.

Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Nick Coleman to capture the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Liberty on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Coleman said.
