Boyd Pugh was a major contributor to the 5-4 Columbia win over Alameda. The River Rats third baseman was 2 for 2 with a double and a walk. Dave Wilson was the winner in relief. His record is now 6-2. The losing pitcher was Todd Lee. Columbia is now 60-35, 2½ games up in the Menard's A.
Columbia got a critical at-bat from Joseph MacFadden. The left fielder stroked a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was huge.
