A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Columbia River Rats and Alameda Airmen.

The Columbia River Rats beat the Alameda Airmen, 6-4. Columbia pitcher and Cresco, Iowa, native Charlie Leslie led the way. Leslie picked up the win for Columbia, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1.

The River Rats got a big hit from third baseman Boyd Pugh. Facing Alameda pitcher Tim Ryan in the bottom of the fifth, Pugh pounded a bases-clearing double to left-center. His 9th double of the season put the River Rats ahead, 5-3.

"We ground out the win," said Pugh. "That's all that matters."
