Colorado Triumphs with Late Surge
|
The Colorado Billy Goats got a marvelous performance from pitcher Raúl Hernández. The right-hander kept the Pittsburgh offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-1 Colorado victory at Pittsburgh Grounds. George Atwater picked up his 2nd save of the season. The victory makes Colorado 2-3.
Colorado needed the clutch hitting of Marcos Iglecias to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Billy Goats on top, 3-1. For the game, Iglecias had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Afterward, Billy Goats manager Mack Kilkeary said, "We had some good at-bats, some big at-bats in some key situations."
