Kingfishers Lose to Rock City, 4-3
|
Getting a good performance from left fielder Juan Suarze, the Detroit Rock City defeated the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 4-3. Suarze went 3 for 3 with 3 singles. He scored 3 runs for the Rock City. Pittsburgh drops to 4-3.
The Kingfishers had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Rock City going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old second baseman Don Weaver came to the plate. Weaver hit a run-scoring double on a 1-2 fastball from Pittsburgh hurler David White. It was Weaver's 2nd double of the year.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Pittsburgh manager Tyler Johnson, "let me know."
