Echo Park Lakers starter Roberto Chaumond turned in an exceptional performance against the Las Vegas Flamingos at LA Forum, resulting in a Echo Park win, 9-1. Chaumond, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Echo Park goes to 5-2 with the win.

Echo Park shortstop Palmer Kent contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 8th hit of the season and put the Lakers ahead, 3-1.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Chaumond told the Echo Park Daily News.
