Lighthouse Come Up Short at Mexico City, 4-3
The Blue Demons grabbed a win, 4-3, at Condor Nest, overcoming a fine effort from Long Island pitcher Jeff Tate. Tate went 8 innings and allowed 4 runs. Jeff McFarland was the winner. He's now 1-1. The loser was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Jeff Tate. Leonard Dennis locked down his 2nd save.

The Blue Demons got a big at-bat from left fielder Shintaro Hagi. For the game, Hagi went 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 1st double of the season gave Mexico City a 4-3 lead.

Long Island manager Michael Esposito said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.

Long Island falls to 1-6.
