Flamingos 3-2 Losers to Cattlemen
|
The bats were silent much of the day at The Strip. But 25-year old left fielder Jeremy Brooks produced just enough offense to carry the Cattlemen past the Las Vegas Flamingos, 3-2. Brooks was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Jesús Rosas picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 6 in 5.2 innings. John Allen wrapped it up, recording his 3rd save.
Brooks made an early impact for Ft. Worth when he stroked his 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came in the top of the first, put the Cattlemen on top, 2-0.
"That's baseball," said Las Vegas manager Tom Williams. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
With the loss, Las Vegas sinks to 2-6.
