Caterpillars Snag 6-3 Win
The Grand Forks Caterpillars began the 2055 season with a convincing 6-3 win over the Caldwell Chiefs at The Cocoon. Most impressive was Grand Forks pinch hitter Glen Thomas, who was 1-1 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Grand Forks reliever John Paddock picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. King Thompson shouldered the loss. Nick Price earned the save, his 1st.

Thomas had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 cutter from King Thompson, he banged a bases-clearing double to left-center, giving the Caterpillars a 5-2 lead. It was the 1st double of the year for Thomas.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Thomas told the Grand Forks News. "It's as simple as that."
