Philadelphia Liberty U-24 to Appear in Playoffs

It's off to the playoffs for the Philadelphia Liberty U-24.
With their record at 57-33, the club has officially locked up a postseason spot.
"It's really exciting to get the chance to play in the postseason," said center fielder Shannon Fowler. "It's a good time to be a member of the Liberty U-24, that's for sure."

Postseason Bid Ends for South Beach

While they stayed relevant late into the season, there will be no postseason berth for the South Beach Blaze. The club today was mathematically eliminated from postseason contention.
The Blaze have missed the playoffs 15 times in their 42 years as a USPL Single A franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 2nd in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2061. In the last 10 seasons, the Blaze have only missed the playoffs once. South Beach has won the PL A Championship 22 times in their history.

August's Best Starter Named in PA

When Ben Watkins takes the hill, there's a good chance for a Eugene victory. At least that's the way it was in May.
He excelled with a 5-0 mark and a 1.96 ERA in 5 starts, tossed 36.2 innings, fanned 31, and held enemy hitters to a .180 average.
That's why the Vandals star was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the USPL Single A.
So far this year, Watkins has 14 wins and 4 losses and a 2.65 ERA.
