Fans watched the South Beach Blaze and the Put-In-Bay Commodores fight to the finish.

The South Beach Blaze defeated the Put-In-Bay Commodores, 3-2, in USPL Single A action at The Ballpark on the Beach. South Beach pitcher Dani Rodríguez had a standout performance. The win puts South Beach at 9-6.

With runs few and far between, the Blaze had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for South Beach came in the bottom of the fifth inning, when 23-year old shortstop Alfredo Barrera delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off John Morrison and made the score 3-1, Blaze. Barrera went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Barrera. "I think we showed that here."
