Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Put-In-Bay Commodores were eager to watch Jacobim Mugatu square off against Jorge Toledo of the visiting Lake Erie Arryns. In the end, the Arryns won the game, 2-1, with Jorge Toledo leading the way.

Lake Erie won the game in part because of Ricardo Pérez. The designated hitter ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Arryns ahead, 2-0. For the game, Pérez had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"Some games build character," said Lake Erie manager Louis Espinosa. "Like this one."
