South Beach wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher José García, falling to the Pontiac Godfathers, 4-1. García threw 9.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Pontiac reliever Peter Brenchley was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Henry Ball took the loss. With the win, Pontiac lifts its record to 2-0.
Pontiac got a knockout punch from Nicol Stolk. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
Stolk attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
