Cut Off starter Brooks Mason pitched well against the Grim Reapers at The Coffin. The right-hander led his team to a win, 2-1. Cut Off reliever Jay Whitney was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Troy Edwards. Bob Douglas earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.

Cut Off used the clutch hitting of Clint Sheffield to snag the win. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Crawdads ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Crawdads manager Miguel Aguilar. "This one was nice to get."
