The Put-In-Bay Commodores knocked off the Chicago Tula, 5-4, in USPL Single A action at Ramblers Ballpark. Put-In-Bay pitcher and Salina Cruz, Mexico, native Pedro Gil had an outstanding performance. The winner was Gil. He threw 5.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The loser was Boudewijn Vervoort. With the win, Put-In-Bay elevates its record to 3-1.

It could have been a different outcome for Put-In-Bay, had it not been for Jorge Valdéz, the 22-year old third baseman . Valdéz contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Put-In-Bay up, 5-1.

"We've got a great group of guys," Valdéz said, "and we're having fun right now."
