Crawdads Come Up Short at Put-In-Bay, 6-5
|
The Cut Off Crawdads got a sterling performance from center fielder Wilber Moore, but the Put-In-Bay Commodores still prevailed, 6-5. Moore went 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Randy Powell got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 5 innings. Jorge Flores closed it out for his 1st save.
Second Baseman Yen-nien Ku made an impact for Put-In-Bay, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Ed Towers in the bottom of the third. For the contest, Ku went 1-3 with a triple and a walk. He scored 2 times.
In postgame comments to the Put-In-Bay Gazette, Ku said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
Cut Off, with the loss, is still a robust 5-2.
