South Beach rode a fine outing from starter Chia-kang Liang to victory over the Caldwell Chiefs at The Ballpark on the Beach. The final score was 2-1. At 7-0, the Blaze have played well so far.

Cliff Stone drove in one run for South Beach. The 23-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off John McCarthy. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.

Stone said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
