Valdéz Slugs 2 Home Runs, Commodores Beat Crawdads, 3-2
|
A good performance from third baseman Jorge Valdéz helped the Put-In-Bay Commodores defeat the Cut Off Crawdads, 3-2. Valdéz was 3-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Commodores. Put-In-Bay reliever Jorge Flores picked up the win, while Denny Brooks took the loss for Cut Off. At 5-3, the Commodores have played well so far.
Put-In-Bay took a 3-2 lead on Valdéz's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Denny Brooks in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Put-In-Bay to the win.
Valdéz called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
