The Cut Off Crawdads trumped the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus, 6-1, at Smokies Stadium. Cut Off shortstop John Smith was terrific. He went 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Adam Johnson, the winner, improved to 2-0. He held the Hobeaus to 1 run on 3 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Cut Off has a record of 6-3.

Smith had a big hit for Cut Off with two out in the top of the fourth. With Cut Off leading 2-1, Smith hit a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Crawdads up, 5-1.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Smith told the Cut Off Gazette.
