Late Offense Lifts Newmarket to 6-3 Victory
The Newmarket Rogues faced a tough opponent in Delmarva pitcher Juan Velasco, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Cage by a final score of 6-3. Velasco went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Gerard Bannerman claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. With the win, Newmarket elevates its record to 6-3.

In the top of the ninth, 24-year old center fielder Wouter Boermeester delivered for Newmarket. That's when he belted a 2-run home run, putting the Rogues up, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a climactic one.

Boermeester attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
