The Pontiac Godfathers knocked off the Grim Reapers, 5-3, in USPL Single A action at The Coffin. Pontiac pitcher and Santiago, Chile, native Albert Martínez had an outstanding performance. The win has Pontiac at 4-5.
The Godfathers got a gift in the top of the fifth inning, when they were leading 3-1. With two out and the bases loaded, Carlos Alvarado reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 4-1, Pontiac.
"We ground out the win," said Alvarado. "That's all that matters."
