The South Beach Blaze dealt the Eugene Vandals a 4-2 loss at The Ballpark on the Beach. Irving Bryan was the star on offense. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Eugene drops to 6-3.
Bryan had a timely hit for South Beach in the bottom of the seventh. With South Beach trailing 2-1, he turned a first pitch splitter into a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season, making it 4-2, South Beach.
Said losing manager Milton Mathews: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
