Floundering Rogues Lose 9th Straight
The Chicago Tula beat the Newmarket Rogues, 5-3, at Rogues Stadium. The win was due in part to designated hitter Jean Mazet, who went 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Chicago reliever Cooper Jefferson was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Sean Ellis took the loss. The Tula raised their record to 8-1.

Chicago used the timely hitting of Steve Wrottesley to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Tula on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I believe in our guys," said Chicago skipper Don Pokorski. "I like the energy they're playing with."
