The Huntington Hermit Crabs downed the Put-In-Bay Commodores, 1-0, at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Jack Jennings had a lot to do with it. The left-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Jennings picked up the win for Huntington, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 9 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Christian Sandoval finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
In the top of the second inning of a 0-0 tie, Huntington center fielder Mark Thornber reached on an error by the P, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put Huntington on top, 1-0.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager José Trejo.
The win lifts Huntington to a record of 5-5.
