Lakers Win at Detroit, 6-3
|
The Echo Park Lakers overcame a pretty good performance by Detroit designated hitter Kobbe van Houwelingen, beating the Rock City, 6-3, at Detroit Stadium. van Houwelingen went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winning pitcher was Roberto Chaumond. His record now stands at 2-0. The right-hander went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits for the Lakers. With the win, Echo Park lifts its record to 8-4.
Jeremy Dean had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the sixth for Echo Park. With the bases loaded and the Lakers leading 4-2, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Dean told the Echo Park Daily News.
