Anthony Wright brought his A-game to help Smoky Mountain defeat the Huntington Hermit Crabs, 3-1. Luis Quiñones, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 2.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Albert Longoria earned the save for Smoky Mountain, his 3rd.

The Hermit Crabs had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Hobeaus going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old shortstop Luis Martínez came to the plate. Martínez hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 fastball from Huntington hurler Timothy Hess. It was Martínez's 4th double of the year.

"If you beat me, you beat me, if not, good things will happen," said Wright.

The victory makes Smoky Mountain 4-7.
