Delmarva turned a good effort from starter Lewis Smith into a win over the Put-In-Bay Commodores at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. The Gallos won the game, 5-2. The loss drops Put-In-Bay to 5-6.

The Gallos got an important contribution from first baseman Michael Merced, who in the top of the first punched a 3-1 sinker to right-center for a 2-run triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Gallos ahead, 3-0.

"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Merced.
