Starting pitcher Andrew Bowen pitched well enough to help the Newmarket Rogues beat the Put-In-Bay Commodores, 4-3. The Rogues, now 2-9, have not found much traction so far in 2062.

The decisive blow was delivered in the bottom of the ninth when Terry Smart hit a solo home run off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Hua Wang to win the game for Newmarket. The home crowd went wild.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Newmarket manager Clay Myers. "It's usually not just one thing."
