The Chicago Tula, despite a fine performance by Cut Off pitcher Ed Towers, grabbed a 3-2 win at Ramblers Ballpark. Towers allowed no runs over 5 innings. Ray Berard, 1-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. The loss puts Cut Off at 7-5.

Chicago got a knockout punch from Marc Taylor. The second baseman hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

Taylor called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
