Lighthouse Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel
In a tight tilt between the Long Island Lighthouse and the Vancouver Grey Wolves, Jeff Tate was the deciding factor. The Long Island left-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. Larry Alexander got credit for the save for Long Island. It was his 3rd of the year. With the loss, Vancouver falls to 6-6.

Long Island used the timely hitting of Juan Rodríguez to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Lighthouse on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I made some pitches when I had to," said Tate.
