Crawdads Earn Clutch Win, 5-4
|
Despite a great performance by Eugene first baseman Victor Haynes, the Cut Off Crawdads defeated the Vandals by the score of 5-4 at Crawdads Field. Haynes went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. The Crawdads, now 9-4, have played some good baseball in the early going.
The Crawdads got a clutch hit from left fielder Al Gross. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Crawdads.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Gross said.
