The Commodores grabbed a win, 3-2, at The Ballpark on the Beach, overcoming a fine effort from South Beach pitcher Eduardo Ojeda. Ojeda went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. Dennis Garrett closed out the game, earning his 2nd save. Put-In-Bay, now 5-8, is off to a slow start.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the sixth, with the game tied, Evan Cook was at the plate when Put-In-Bay scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Commodores to go in front, 3-2.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Cook.
