Arryns Deal Commodores 2-1 Loss
|
The Lake Erie Arryns topped the Put-In-Bay Commodores, 2-1, in USPL Single A action at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Lake Erie pitcher Raúl Santos. Tom McClendon picked up his 2nd save of the season. Put-In-Bay, at 3-10, is off to a poor start in 2062.
The Commodores had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Arryns going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old third baseman Ricardo Pérez came to the plate. Pérez hit a solo home run on a 1-0 changeup from Put-In-Bay hurler Jorge Flores. It was Pérez's 2nd home run of the year.
"Tough loss," said Put-In-Bay manager José Trejo. "This one will sting for a while."
