Blue Demons Sneak By Flamingos, 4-3

The Mexico City Blue Demons defeated the Las Vegas Flamingos, 4-3, in United States Silver League action at Condor Nest. Mexico City pitcher Tom Johnston had a standout performance. Johnston picked up the win for Mexico City, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. Leonard Dennis closed out the game, earning his 4th save.
Artie Banks went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Mexico City. The 28-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Derek Carter. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
"We're not really clicking on anything right now," said Las Vegas manager Tom Williams.
The win puts Mexico City at 8-5.
