South Beach Blaze pitcher Cristóbal Félix was in fine form, leading his team past the Walla Walla Walleye, 4-1. Ron Pitts picked up the save, his 2nd. The win gives the Blaze a record of 10-4.

South Beach used the timely hitting of Dave Powell to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blaze on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We had a good game plan," Félix said, "and we were able to execute it."
