Jets Stadium was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
Kennesaw wasted a solid 7.1-inning effort from starting pitcher Artie González, losing to South Beach, 1-0, at Jets Stadium. Henry Ball earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1.
South Beach used a clutch hit from Kevin Grosjean to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blaze ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a doozy.
"Enjoyed this one," Grosjean told the South Beach Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Kennesaw drops to 10-7.
