Loss Diminishes Fine Performance by Coughlan
Though he had a stellar game, Nigel Coughlan could not prevent his team, the Delmarva Gallos, from losing, 9-5, to the Alaskan Bush Pilots. Coughlan hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The winner was Sergio Delgado, who threw 87 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 5 runs on 10 hits. Jim Carter recorded the save for Alaskan, his 2nd of the season.

Willard Case hit a 3-run home run off Doug Holland in the bottom of the first, which put the Bush Pilots ahead, 3-1. In addition to the homer, Case had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
