Crawdads Score Late to Nip Yinzers, 6-5
|
Cut Off third baseman Quinn Phillips helped his team beat the Monroeville Yinzers, 6-5. Phillips, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2061 draft, went 3 for 4 for the Crawdads. Cut Off reliever Bonifacio Juárez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Bob Powell absorbed the loss. The Yinzers fall to 8-11 and continue their uneven start to the 2063 season.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Cut Off trailing 5-4, Phillips hit a fastball from Bob Powell for a 2-run single. In the blink of an eye, the Crawdads had a walk-off win.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Phillips.
