Fans watched the Cut Off Crawdads and the Lake Erie Arryns fight to the finish.
The Cut Off Crawdads, despite a fine performance by Lake Erie pitcher Gary Aldridge, grabbed a 3-2 win at Crawdads Field. Aldridge allowed 2 runs over 6 innings. The Crawdads have an impressive 13-7 record.
Héctor Avilés found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Lake Erie hurler Dale Allen, the 20-year-old catcher hit a sacrifice fly. His 3rd RBI of the season put the Crawdads on top, 3-2.
"Every loss stings," said Lake Erie manager Louis Espinosa. "This one is no exception."
