The Levittown Blue Dragons got a superb performance from pitcher Jorge Martínez, but the South Beach Blaze still won the game, 5-2. Martínez threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball. Fernando López, the winning pitcher, is now 2-1. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 7 and walking 1. The save went to Li-ping Cheng, his 1st this season.

South Beach used the clutch hitting of Bill Meeks to snag the win. The shortstop drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blaze ahead, 5-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Meeks told the South Beach Citizen.

With the victory, the Blaze upped their record to 11-9.
