Yinzers Rally For 5-3 Win
|
The Monroeville Yinzers topped the Cut Off Crawdads, 5-3, in USPL Single A action at Crawdads Field. The standout performance belonged to Monroeville pitcher and Lynwood, California, native Pete Costa. Monroeville reliever Burton Goodman picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Bonifacio Juárez was tagged with the loss. Monroeville is now 10-11, while Cut Off is 10-11.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, Kyle Mays hit a full count fastball from Bonifacio Juárez for a 2-run single. It put Monroeville in front, 5-3.
"I thought we competed really well," said Yinzers manager Todd Hunter. "I thought the energy was really good."
