Díaz Stars in 8-4 Flamingos Win
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos beat the Mexico City Blue Demons, 8-4, at Condor Nest. The Flamingos got a fine performance from designated hitter Juan Díaz, who went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Raúl Hernández earned save number 1 this season. The Flamingos have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 4th win in 15 games.
Díaz had a big hit for Las Vegas with two out in the top of the sixth. With Las Vegas leading 5-4, Díaz hit a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Flamingos up, 7-4.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Díaz. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
