Kennesaw got a big-time effort from pitcher Roberto Valdéz, but it wasn't enough to keep the Newmarket Rogues from winning the game, 5-4. Valdéz threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Luis Rosário wrapped it up, recording his 5th save. The Rogues sit in last place in the Premier A with a record of 8-13.
Newmarket used the timely hitting of Dee Reynolds to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rogues on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Kennesaw manager Jamie Scott. "The effort was great."
