Late Rally by Grey Wolves Locks Up 5-2 Win
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves handed the Pittsburgh Kingfishers a 5-2 defeat at Pittsburgh Grounds. Third Baseman Efren Alog starred for Vancouver. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Waweru Kamili came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Brad Carter, who finished 3rd in the SL in saves with 23 in 2060, earned the save for Vancouver.
With the game tied, 1-1, in the top of the sixth, Alog had a key at-bat for Vancouver. With a runner on 3rd, Alog hit a run-scoring single off David White, making the score 2-1, Grey Wolves.
"Enjoyed this one," Alog told the Vancouver Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The loss drops Pittsburgh to 7-8.
