Hobeaus Tag Jets with 4-1 Loss
|
The Smoky Mountain Hobeaus defeated the Kennesaw Jets, 4-1, in USPL Single A action at Smokies Stadium. Smoky Mountain pitcher Ánibal Vázquez had a standout performance. Vázquez, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. With the win, the Hobeaus improved to 11-12.
Lúcio Sosa broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the second with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Hobeaus in front, 1-0. For the game, Sosa was 1-3.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Roberto Ríos.
