The Kennesaw Jets picked up a win at Put-In-Bay Ballpark, topping the Put-In-Bay Commodores, 5-3. On the mound for Kennesaw was right-hander Mario García. He played a principal role in the triumph. In 6 innings, García surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Picking up his 1st save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Gerardo Chávez.

Kennesaw used the timely hitting of Gary Baxter to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Jets on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Baxter. "You've got to get results."
