Tight Tilt Goes to Commodores, 2-1
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Put-In-Bay Commodores and Cut Off Crawdads.

Put-In-Bay pitcher Marvin Garner had a large part in his team subduing the Cut Off Crawdads, 2-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Garner yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-3. Sancho Sánchez nailed down his 5th save.

The Commodores got a big at-bat from first baseman Rusty Howell. For the game, Howell was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Put-In-Bay a 2-1 lead.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Cut Off manager Miguel Aguilar.

With the win, Put-In-Bay upped its record to 13-12.
